iOS 14 widgets: Here’s how you can add and customise widgets on your iPhone
Apple iOS 14 has made significant changes to the home screen and brought several new features for a seamless user experience. But the most exclusive and important change is the new Widgets system that is more dynamic, can absorb more information and can be placed anywhere on the home screen.
For the unversed, widgets are little sneak peeks into various native applications and they function as a hybrid of an app icon and a half-open app. With the help of widgets, you can see useful information from the apps from your home screen or lock screen.
Widgets help you display your favourite photo album, the top news and headlines of the day, upcoming important events on your calendar and much more. Apple provides pre-made widgets for its native apps and there are several third-party apps in the App store to help the users design their home screens. Here’s how you can add and customise home screen widgets in iOS 14:

Step 1: Move the widgets on your home screen just like you do it with your apps.
Step 2: Tap and hold the widget and drag it to the desired location till it starts jiggling. Select Edit Widget and tap the information that you wish to change.
Step 3: If you want to drag it to another page on your home screen, you can do it by dragging it to the edge of the page that you are currently on.
If you have added a Widget and you want to change its size, then you will have to remove it by holding onto it for a second. Now, tap the Minus symbol and once it starts to vibrate, repeat the same process for adding it again by selecting the right size on the Add Widget screen.
However, many widgets do not allow users to change any settings, while others allow you to customise only one or two settings.
